Our Quality Custom Design & Build Process
We design & build transformers of all types. Our bespoke custom build process ensures units are 100% tested using the latest coil winding test equipment and are stringently controlled by our in-house procedures and custom built ERP system and compliance to ISO9001:2015. All products leaving JM Transformers are issued with a certificate of conformity as standard and if necessary, a documented test log can be issued.
We perform our tests on the Voltech AT5600 and have custom jigs to fit all styles of winding currently in production. If a new bobbin format is required then we build a bespoke test jig from our tool room – which includes a CNC 12 station vertical milling centre and both CNC and manual lathes. All verified tests are stored on our database and then used on material coming through production. All production units have a specific test jig which removes incorrect terminals being connected by operators and ensures conformity. The major benefit of this is that once a test is verified, all units thereafter have to meet the same criteria to pass. This removes any test ambiguity as the unit will return a pass or a fail only. Also with this type of testing rig, we can apply as many tests, as many times as required for that winding(s).
